This one surprised me. REI isn’t typically known for discounting products, but they’ve got some great GPS deals from Nov. 21 to Dec. 1. And by the way, shipping is $4.99 for members and everything carries REI’s ironclad guarantee. On to the deals. The first six in particular are amazing. All Amazon comparison prices are as of 11/19.

• Garmin nuvi 500 GPS - $299.99. A “crossover unit” that does double duty on the road or on the trail. I wasn’t that impressed when I tried it, but there have been some firmware updates to improve it since then. This unit was $386 when I checked it at Amazon. (Review)
• Garmin nuvi 255 Personal Travel Assistant - $174.99. A text-to-speech unit in the nuvi series that I called “the best entry level GPS on the market.” $199 at Amazon when I checked. (Review)
• Garmin Forerunner 50 - $63.99. A non-GPS heart rate monitor. $82 at Amazon.
• Garmin Forerunner 305 - $199.99. Great for runners. $278 at Amazon. (Review)
• TomTom ONE 125 - $99.99. $162 at Amazon. A stripped down version of the TomTom ONE 130 (see below). I would expect no more than 2-3 million points of interest (POIs).
