We have a winner!

A random drawing of entries was done this morning, and we now have a winner of the Navigon 7200T. Robert Griswold is the lucky fellow; he added comment number 83…

“I have been in the market for a GPS for some time and this site looks like a great place to find the best deals, which is good because price is a key determinant for me and I, like most consumers, want the best bang for my buck! That being said, please enter me into the contest for the Navigon 7200T. Also, I have subscribed to your RSS feed for a second entry, but more importantly for great deals on GPS units should I not win!”

Thanks again to Navigon for supplying the 7200T as the prize, and thanks to everyone who entered, subscribed and gave us some link love! Now don’t go away, ’cause we’ve got some great deals coming. And you don’t even have to wait till Black Friday. I expect to have a big surprise for everyone this Friday, so stay tuned.

    How random was that? It seemed like you picked a pretty polished and articulate comment. I imagine it wouldn’t have looked good if you picked someone with a comment “ENTER ME I WANNA WIN!” If that was the case I bet people would have chosen how they commented a little more carefully.

    Hey, I’m as surprised as you. My wife used a random number generator to select the winner. Shall I scan it and post it, timestamp and all?

    While that is an interesting point, I would not have expected while entering the contest that the post registering the winner for the contest would be displayed in the announcement declaring the winner.

    I find it more likely that the drawing was indeed random and that after reading the post, and finding it articulate and polished and (more importantly) a positive reflection on the website, then decided to include it in the announcement proclaiming the winner.

    If my post had been “ENTER ME I WANNA WIN!,” then I believe it simply would not have been included.

    Sorry I didn’t mean to sound like an ass. It was my first initial thought and I probably should have just kept my conspiracy theories to myself. Maybe I’m just a sore loser. Anyways I love the site and hope to jump on anymore contests you’ll be running.

    My brother is Robert Griswold. The kid wins every contest he enters. Hes got the midas touch. I was going to get him a Garmin form Christmas… so I guess this means I don’t have to get him anything now.
